BitcoinPenguin is a virtual currency casino that accepts three crypto-coins including bitcoin, and has a wide range of games. They welcome players from across the globe including players from the USA.
In business since 2014, the casino is based in Belize, and operates under the laws of that country, though the website has no licensing information.
BTC / Crypto Deposits and Withdrawals
In addition to bitcoin (BTC), BitcoinPenguin accepts litecoin (LTC) and dogecoin (DOGE) deposits.
Signing up with the casino is simple – you just fill in your email address, create nickname and password, and designate your currency. You will receive an email you must respond to in order to complete the registration.
When you are signed in, a Deposit button will come up on your page. When you click on it, you will get option of filling in a bonus code, and a QR code and bitcoin address will appear. You can then copy the address into your personal bitcoin wallet and fill in an amount there. When you send from your wallet, you are seconds away from playing for real money.
BitcoinPenguin lists no minimum or maximum deposit limits.
Your withdrawal option is on the same page. Simply click on the Cashout button, and that will take you to a form for the amount and your bitcoin address. When you hit Request Cashout, the money will be on the way to your wallet. On the website, BitcoinPenguin states: “Most withdrawals are processed automatically.” This most likely means larger amounts will take more blockchain confirmations and time.
The minimum withdrawal amount is 1 mBTC (.001 BTC), and the maximum is 5 BTC.
Before you go to take out money, make sure you have passed any bonus qualifications for withdrawal, if you have accepted a bonus.
BitcoinPenguin Bonuses & Rewards
This casino has a number of bonuses, all which may change from time to time. While we were visiting, the BitcoinPenguin Casino bonus program welcomed newcomers with a 100% match for up to 0.2 BTC. This bonus comes with a withdrawal requirement of wagering 45 times the bonus amount. In other words, if you deposit the full 0.2 BTC, you will be matched with another 0.2 BTC, and you must wager a total of 9 BTC (45 x 0.2 = 9) before you can withdraw any money.
Slots are the only games that contribute a full 100% of your wager toward the bonus. All other games count 5% or less. Also, there is a long list of games that are excluded from the bonus program. That list plus details of the bonus programs are in the Bonus Terms & Conditions.
BitcoinPenguin also has a weekly high rollers slots competition for the 10 highest betting slots players. You should also look for a Friday free spins offer; deposit and wager more than 1 BTC, and you will get 30 free spins on a featured game.
On Mondays, there is a 20% cashback bonus on your biggest deposit of the day.
To enter the running for the competition or the free spins and cashback deals, you are required to notify BitcoinPenguin Support.
Casino Games and Software
This casino has a healthy lineup of about 200 games powered by five software providers that include BetSoft, Endorphina and Bgaming (formerly SoftSwiss). You can try them for free, even without signing in or depositing. The most complex of the games we called up loaded in around a minute, with simpler table-type games taking even less time.
They have 14 categories in the games menu, including slot competition games, which had five games up when we checked.
More than 150 slots games make up the majority of the BitcoinPenguins games roster. That large number lends itself to a wide variety of lively themes, as well as plenty of choices in reel numbers and paylines. We noticed familiar titles such as Satoshi’s Secret, Aztec Magic and Fruit Zen.
We also took note of 12 jackpot games such as A Night in Paris, Good Girl Bad Girl, and Greedy Goblins. There were no jackpot totals listed, but recent winners come up on a screen crawler.
The Card Games category has 15 games including baccarat and various versions of blackjack.
You can find video poker in both of the Poker Games and Video Poker categories. The poker games include Casino Hold’em, Caribbean, Three Card and Pai Gow. The Video Poker section has pyramid and multi-hand versions of Jacks or Better, Joker Poker and Deuces Wild.
There are three roulette games, European, French and American.
The Casual Games section includes scratchcards and Minesweeper, as well as Virtual Racebook.
BitcoinPenguin has Lottery and Live Games on their menu, but we saw no games there.
The casino is mobile accessible, but not necessarily mobile friendly. We directed our smartphone browser to bitcoinpenguin.com and found the navigating kind of awkward for the small screen. But the games are instant play and they loaded OK when we tapped on them. Nevertheless, if you plan on using an iPhone, iPad, Android or other device much, you should try a few games before you deposit.
Provably Fair Games
BitcoinPenguin states: “Our games are truly random and provably fair. In addition to that, you can view our iTechLabs certification here.” We tried that and got nothing; nor did we find any provably fair verification tool. We do know however that their software providers have games routinely tested, and we found no reason to doubt the fairness.
BitcoinPenguin has a redundant FAQ section that covers just a few questions. Clicking on Support will get you a form for an email message. We found the chat bubble got a fast response, and the representative was up on the latest information, which was helpful.
We must have caught BitcoinPenguin in the middle of a major overhaul, because a number of things seemed incomplete when we were there. Plus their support rep clued us in with information that conflicted with their Terms page.
That’s no reason to shy away from this casino. It has a lot of things going for it, namely a fine roster of fun games. But we call BitcoinPenguin a work in progress, and we plan a return visit.
